Happy New Year!

Part 2 of the Studio Penguin adventure lands on the 13th February 2006 (just in time for Valentine's Day, awww!) in the form of the debut single from noisy anglo-italian trio Popular Workshop. It features two tracks of punkrockdancefight action, limited to 400 copies and pressed on sexy orange vinyl. Catch the band live at the following dates:

The band will also be on tour in mid-to-late February with the lovely boys and girls of Akira. Dates for this are forthcoming, but will be here when we have them.

Meanwhile, the Projections 7" has picked up further good reviews - check out Drowned In Sound's review of it. The band have a few dates currently planned, while they scheme out their next move, which will hopefully be a CD EP of new material through us in a couple of months. Current live dates as follows:

Steve (vocals/guitar) is on tour from the 18th with his "pop" outfit (his words, not ours), the rather fine Blood Red Shoes - dates on their website, check them out live and pick up their new 7" on Try Harder Records. They're playing with Tera:Tora, who are also worthy of your attention.

Projections: again!

Long time, no update.

The Projections 7" is now well and truly out there in the world. You can buy it in the following ways:

online from the nice folks over at Norman Records.
online from the nice folks over at Rough Trade.
At either of Rough Trade's shops in London (one in Covent Garden WC2, one in Ladbroke Grove W11) - details of which can be found here and here.

Norman Records said some very nice things about the single in their weekly mailout. They said:

"Limited 7" from Projections. A trebly & off-kilter post-hardcore wobble-a-thon that reminds me of Shudder To Think crossed with Built To Spill on shaky stilts recorded in a collapsing wheelie bin. 'We Couldn't Speak' is damn fine, screen printed & limited to 400 vroooooming copies that will probably take 8 times longer to sell out than one of these buzz band bags of toss. The flip is more of a slow building tower of instrumental tension & dynamics sorta thang that has a guitar on that I would dub 'coruscating' & some angrily flailing cymbals that could behead you. This is the kind of band that live, can easily flip me out into a headnod wonderland after 2 pints of Guinness & a smoke. Excellent."

A big hug is extended to Norman, regardless of whether he is real or not.

I'm fairly sure the band do not have any further dates planned for this year. However next year will, I'm more than sure, bring more touring and new music (through us or not).

We're in the planning stages for several new releases next year from HOT NEW BANDS, but we can't talk about those yet, oh no. Nor can we talk about the MONTHLY LONDON CLUBNIGHT we may (or may not) be in the stages of planning. But we can say we're going to have a PROPER WEBSITE very very very soon. I promise.

Projections: now actually out on tour, further 7" details

Projections are now on the road with Charlottefield, with boxloads of the 7" in tow that they will be selling.

Other than that, if you wish to buy one, it will be available from this site as of Monday 7th November 2005 if all goes to plan, and then into various shops (both real and online) a week later. Please email us for any enquiries or to find out about ordering one. We'll be sorting out payment via paypal at some point soon, but we're also open to other methods of payment!

As well as this, a full website should be in place by the end of November, as well as expanded mail order services.

There's more to come. There's always more to come.

Projections: on tour, debut 7"

Projections, those loveable-yet-noisy bastards from Brighton, are out on tour next month with the equally loveable-yet-noisy Charlottefield [check out their debut album How Long Are You Staying on Jonson Family / Unlabel!].

To coincide with this, we'll be issuing a 7" for Projections, featuring the tracks "We Couldn't Speak" and "Twenty-Three". You can hear early versions of these tracks over on the Projections website, but the band have decided to rerecord them for the 7" as they feel they can "play them better" - Rocknfuckingroll!

Further details as to how it will be available will be posted here when we've worked them out ourselves.
